Coffs Harbour Jetty Beach
Coffs Harbour Jetty Beach is a well protected beach which is 1.4 km long. This beach is very popular with both locals and tourists. Why not take the children down Jetty beach for a nice relaxing day. Have a picnic on the beach, catch a little wave on the body board and let the children enjoy the huge shaded play area, bike paths and much more.
This beach is absolutely perfect for families to enjoy with its calm ocean and child friendly atmosphere. There are bbq facilities and picnic areas for everyone to enjoy. There is also lots of parking, although on the weekends it can become very busy so it could be limited. If you wanted to have some more adventure, snorkeling is highly recommended around this area. Your be able to observe lots of marine life so make sure you take your go pro. Surfing is not recommended at this beach, because it is to protected to create any waves. Fishing on the other hand is recommended and fun for everyone to enjoy.
Every Sunday the jetty holds a harbour-side markets from 8am til 2pm. This markets offers, homemade gifts, different types of home made food and fresh produce to purchase.
Once you have looked around the markets why not go for a walk around Mutton bird island nature reserve. Take in the beautiful scenery and if you look out of the eastern side of the island it will offer amazing views of Solitary island.
You will be able to spot whales in between May and November, and you may see dolphins surfing a wave, and other native wildlife.
After all that walking you may fancy grabbing a bite there is several venues such as Saulte jetty, Fishermans co op, Pizza vino, Seasalt jetty and lots more cafes on the jetty strip. If you’re looking for some dinner there are lots of different types of cuisine to try for example there is Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Australian and many more.
